7 Closure Orders were served on food businesses in May!
In May, authorities acting on behalf of the FSAI closed 7 food businesses and also issued a Prohibition Order on an additional premises.
They were served in Monaghan, Offaly, Donegal, Wexford, and four in Dublin.
Reasons for the closure orders
A lack of adequate pest control
Evidence of live rodents and rodent droppings
Failure to keep high-risk foods at the correct temperature
Food debris, grease, and dirt on walls, floors, surfaces, and shelving
Lack of allergen information and controls
No access to hot running water for handwashing
Listeria present in sampled ready-to-eat foods
Electronic fly killer, full of dead insects directly over food preparation surfaces
No HACCP Food Safety Management System in place
